Where we began
Since day one, our precious boy has had his own unique perspective on the world. He was always the one shedding a few extra tears and pulling all-nighters (seriously, he never slept), all thanks to a misdiagnosed case of severe sleep apnea. It was a game-changer when we finally sorted it out at the age of three.
However, even with this issue sorted he seemed to meet every developmental milestone just at the deadline, always almost there....but not exactly. Despite consulting every pediatrician and specialist in NZ, we're still on this journey.
My one piece of advice? Keep advocating, always.
Every step forward, every goal met, and every milestone achieved is a testament to your child's unique journey and individuality.

As for our diagnosis? Well, that's still a work in progress, but we're sharing our story along the way, finding peace and gratitude for how this little firecracker entered our lives. It wasn't covered in any baby handbook, that's for sure. And no one had an answer to "when do you sleep when your baby doesn't sleep?"So behold, the "manual" for navigating the neuro-nautical: where our dragons roam. Just kidding, we're sailing these uncharted waters without a clue, but at least we've got a log of our journey through the vast unknown so perhaps our experiences can be of help. We've found harmony with the quirks, wonders, and occasional explosions of our neuro-nauticals. Now, we're setting our sights on weaving alternative and augmentative language into our community, ensuring inclusivity at every turn.
